Traffic results
at Prague Airport shows 1 003 604 passengers in April 2011, more than 27% of 786 253 in April 2010. Year-on-year increase is success despite last year volcanic ash airport closure, affected passenger numbers by 200 000 down. The number of aircraft movements rose by nearly 10% to 12 531 take-offs and landings in April 2011, air cargo traffic went up by 17,7%. While the charter segment remained at the previous year’s levels in terms of passenger numbers, low cost airlines carried 19,4% more passengers and full service carriers achieved a growth by 34,4%.The number of transferring passengers grew by 11% and kept its average share of around 20% from all departing passengers at Prague Airport.
