October 2011 saw at Prague Airport a decline in passenger numbers by 4,6 %. The airport welcomed the total of 1 033 737 passengers. The number of movements amounted to 13 105, representing a drop by 6,9 %. The cargo traffic experienced a similar development with 7 % fall of the air cargo volumes (to 5 475 163 kg). Major decrease of 5,2 % was driven by the full service airlines, but also the low cost segment slowed down by 3,1 % and the charter traffic by 3,7 % respectively year-on-year. The UK and Germany remained the most popular countries in terms of passenger numbers. The country ranking shows France on the third place for October 2011, while countries with the largest increase in passenger volumes were Spain (+15,9 %), Russia (+15,4 %) and Turkey (+14 %). Focusing on the destinations ranking, the most popular ones were Paris Charles de Gaulle (72 400), Moscow Sheremetyevo (49 134), Frankfurt (43 000), Amsterdam (41 848) and Barcelona (32 533). An interesting growth of the number of serviced passengers by 32,5% was achieved on the Barcelona route, followed by Milan Malpensa (+23,7 %) and Antalya (+22,3 %).
