Operation of the newly installed and certified
lighting of the Vodochody Airport near Prague was opened on 08.01.2008. A stationary lighting of this airport is said to have been in operation in 1987 for the last time. Private equity group Penta, holder of 100 % of the shares of AERO Vodochody (owner of the airport), would like to change its status from a private to a public international airport, mainly focused on low-cost and charter flights and new lighting is one step of future plans.
